Mods Are Asleep, Post Spider-Train
Well, this is certainly different. Arriving express from death’s train station itself comes Two Star Games’ Choo-Choo Charles, an upcoming open-world horror game featuring the Fat Controller’s sleep-paralysis demon, the titular Charles, an eight-legged, razor-toothed demonic locomotive hellbent on devouring your soul. Brilliant!
The game will see players take control of their own machine-gun-armed train (non-arachnid), which they will use to explore a vast island, gradually adding more armour and firepower to their little-engine-that-hopefully-can, with the end goal of sending Charles to the wrecking yard.
“In Choo-Choo Charles you’re given the task of eradicating a monster known by the locals as ‘Charles’. Nobody knows where he came from, but they know why; to eat the flesh of puny humans,” reads the Steam description for the game. “You have a small yellow train, with a map, mounted machine gun, and an exquisite collection of bobble-heads on the dashboard. You’ll use this train to get from place to place, while you complete missions for the townspeople, or loot scraps from around the island. Over time you’ll use your scraps to upgrade your train’s speed, armor, and damage. You’ll grow your arsenal, and (hopefully) become an unstoppable force, ready to take on the great and mighty Charles.”
Even without a firm release date beyond Q2 2022, Choo-Choo Charles has already become a viral sensation, with many fans praising the absolute bonkers originality of the game. With other Two Star Games, such as My Beautiful Paper Smile, My Friend is a Raven and Cloud Climber, garnering positive reviews, Choo-Choo Charles is undoubtedly a game to keep an eye on…even if it is just to make sure Charles doesn’t sneak up behind you.
