I’m not entirely into board games… but this looks lovely
The creator of 2016’s indie darling, Stardew Valley, has announced this his beloved title has been turned into a board game, available right now for purchase! ConcernedApe on Twitter announced that Stardew Valley: The Board Game has been in development for the past two years and is now finally ready for fans to get their hands on it.
According to the official website, the board game is for 1-4 players and revolves around a full year in Stardew Valley’s Pelican Town, with players working together to get the Community Centre back on its feet and run the evil Joja Mart out of town. Playtime should be around 45-minutes per player with the game difficulty adjustable depending on if you want a shorter game.
Each round, a Season’s Card is drawn to determine the conditions of that round – such as the weather – and players will focus on parts of the town that they feel like helping, whether it be mining, tending to crops and animals, fishing, etc.
All the parts of the video game, such as growing friendships, upgrading weapons, and unlocking unique gifts are also an important part of the board game in their own ways. Find out more on the official website!
Unfortunately for us Aussies, it’s only shipping within the US, but if you’ve got a friend over there who can safely ship it to you, you can purchase it for $55USD on the Stardew Valley online store.
