Mario Items Coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on February 25th

Announced during Thursday morning’s Nintendo Direct, the 35th-anniversary Mario-themed items revealed in the Super Mario 35th Anniversary Direct last year will be heading to your Switch on February 25th.

Villagers can collect all the familiar Mario-themed items such as the Power-Up Mushroom, 1-Up Mushroom, gold coins, blocks, Whomp, Koopa’s shell, and more to place around their island as they so please.

Included in this update will be different outfits from Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom buddies (the human ones, I believe), and – most importantly – two functioning warp pipes! Meaning you go down one and come out the other! What a way to get around! Unfortunately, these are DEFINITELY not going to fit my island’s aesthetics… if it was still a functioning island.

Nevertheless, I know I am still going to be awestruck by the things the other, more creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are going to do with these items.

This free update will be coming to players on February 25th with the items being available for purchase from Nook Shopping from March 1st.
