Everything from Thursday Morning’s Nintendo Direct

If you jumped out of bed this morning with a smile on your face because 1. mornings mean you can have coffee, 2. mandatory lockdown ended, and 3. there was the first Nintendo Direct in 17 months scheduled for 9 AM, then hey! We may be the same person!

This morning we were blessed with – finally – a Nintendo Direct for EVERYONE! I find that these Directs can go a bit over my head given my gap in gaming over the years, but I was wowed and came out the other end full of beans for some future releases! So, with that, let’s get through this recap!

Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 joins the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster

Coming this March

Rex’s two-in-one blade, Pyra/Mythra are heading over to the arena in Super Smash Bros Ultimate this March. She brings her sword wielding skills as well as the ability to change between Pyra and Mythra on the fly.

Fall Guys is coming to Switch

Coming this Winter

The ever-growing PlayStation Plus title, Fall Guys, is making its way to our grubby, little hands later this year as it plummets onto the Nintendo Switch! Last thing to do… add it to Xbox!

After 20 years, Nintendo is bringing Legend of Mana to Nintendo Switch with awesome revamped, HD graphics. It’s also had its music rearranged, and you can switch between listening to the newer melodies or the original tunes.

New Monster Hunter Rise trailer

This new trailer talks of the Rampage that destroyed Kamura Village 50 years ago and is currently threatening it again. They also show off a special Monster Hunter Deluxe Edition Switch console,(including a digital download code for Monster Hunter Rise and the Deluxe Kit DLC) as well as the Monster Hunter Rise Pro Controller.

Mario Golf Super Rush announced

Mario is getting his golf on! In this game, Mario tees off on beautiful courses against his Mushroom Kingdom pals, with plenty of gauges to help him get to the green as quick as he can, and motion controls. There’s also a Story Mode (I’ve already made the joke!), where you follow your Mii’s golfing career as they go from rookie to champ. However, the Speed Golf mode has taken us all by storm, as you and your friends start swingin’ at the same time and literally race to get their ball in the hole first using a variety of unique power-ups.

Tales from the Borderlands coming to Switch

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD announced alongside new themed Joy-Cons

After getting told we weren’t getting any Breath of the Wild 2 information today, Mr. Aonuma announced that instead, we would be getting an HD remake of the 2011 Wii title, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, along with redone motion controls with the Joy-Cons, and an option to not play with motion controls at all. Alongside this announcement, a pair of brand new Master Sword and Hylian Shield-themed Joy-Cons will be available to purchase the same day as Skyward Sword.
