The King Has Dropped His Crown
Anders Vejrgang is a name that has set the FIFA community alight over the last few years. Despite still being a year away from being old enough to compete in official FIFA competitions, the 15-year old prodigy, hailing from Denmark, has built up quite the reputation for himself as being virtually unbeatable at the game, particularly when playing the wildly popular FUT Champs game mode.
FUT Champs sees Ultimate Team players trying to battle it out against the best of the best each weekend, from Friday to Monday, accumulating points in order to increase their world ranking. Players are able to play a maximum of 30 games, with the more games won increasing their ranking, which in turn provides them with better rewards. It is, without a doubt, the most stressful game mode available on FIFA.
Last we heard from Danish wonder kid Anders, he had amassed an incredible FUT Champs record of 510-0. I’ll just repeat that, 510 wins and 0 losses. Now, as a 30-year old man who struggles to get a record of 15-15 on a good weekend, that is a hell of an achievement. Unfortunately, this feat hasn’t come without its knockers, with Anders consistently being mocked and ridiculed by grown men on social media who are jealous that a teenager is better at a game than them. Shocking behaviour to say the least.
Unfortunately, earlier today, the 14th of February 2021, the unthinkable has happened. Hell has frozen over. Anders has lost a game of FUT Champs, bringing his unbeaten streak to a crashing end and leaving his record at an outstanding 535-1. It’s a loss that has sent shockwaves through the FIFA community on social media, which just goes to show the impact this youngster is having on the game. Whilst he will no doubt cop some absolutely unnecessary negative attention, I think he’ll be able to console himself with his Red Bull Gaming sponsorship and pick himself up to begin working on a new unbeaten streak.
Chin up, Anders, you’re still the King in our hearts.
