So many insects.
During Capcom’s Resident Evil Showcase this morning, it was announced that Resident Evil Village will be releasing on May the 7th, 2021. Also announced, the 8th instalment of the Resident Evil franchise will be coming to last-gen consoles – the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – as well as current-gen PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
We were also given a new story-based trailer and a look at the first-person gameplay. You play as Ethan Winters – the same protagonist from Resident Evil 7 – as he enters the Castle to look for his kidnapped daughter.
The PlayStation 4 version will offer a free next-gen upgrade once players decide they want to pick up the PlayStation 5, and Xbox users will be supported by Xbox Smart Delivery, meaning progress from Xbox One will carry to the Xbox Series X/S.
Pre-orders for Resident Evil 8 are available right now and will come with the Survival Resource Pack and Mr. Raccoon Weapon Charm as a pre-order bonus. Both these will be helpful to you in the first few hours of gameplay.
Resident Evil Village will be available May 7th, 2021, on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
