Remakes Of The First Two Metal Gear Solid Games Rumoured To Be Coming To PC And PlayStation 5

Here’s a rumour to inject directly into your veins: Hideo Kojima’s action-stealth masterpieces, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, are getting remade for PC and PlayStation 5. Though not yet set in stone, the rumour stems from Youtuber RedGamingTech, who’s been spot on with many rumours in the past. The forums over at Resetera have also kicked into overdrive, with commenters and mods digging to verify the story. It’s all speculation at this point, but enough to have fans like myself very excited.

Further investigation points to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (what a game!!) and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots also re-releasing, but more likely as ports or remasters, rather than full remakes. These rumours line up well with Konami re-releasing a few other classics in the last few years, and Sony will be keen to throw some money at third-parties to get some console-exclusive titles following Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda. And let’s face it, Konami is doing nothing with the licensing.

A new coat of paint may be a good idea

This may all be based on tenuous rumour, but as Solid Snake once said “There’s no such thing in the world as absolute reality. Most of what they call real is actually fiction; what you think you see is only as real as your brain tells you it is.” – and my brain, and heart, are telling me it is going to happen.

Going to love seeing the big nerd Psycho Mantis trawl through 1tb of save game files, finding my Bloodborne death-count and calling me a dweeb.
