I’ve Heard Of Games With Gold, But This Is Ridiculous! (I Hate Myself For That Joke)
Following on from yesterday’s leaked Xbox Series S price, all eyes have been on Sony in hopes the company would follow suit, announcing the price and release date for the upcoming PlayStation 5. However, like the curse of Midas itself, fans may have gotten more than they bargained for – sure, the PlayStation 5 is available for pre-order, but not for us mere mortals.
It’s made of fucking gold, now!
Never fear though, this is not an official Sony product, instead created by Truly Exquisite, the UK’s “premiere luxury customizing brand”, which will be selling the custom consoles in gold, platinum and rose gold.
If you have a spare 15k burning a hole in your pocket, the pre-order page will go live Thursday 10th September at 3pm (UK time) where you will be able to purchase from the following products listed on the site:
- 24K Gold Digital PS5 – £7,999 ($14,360AUD)
- 18K Rose Gold Digital PS5 – £8,099 ($14,540AUD)
- Platinum Digital PS5 – £8,199 ($14,719AUD)
- 24K Gold Disc PS5 – £8,099 ($14,540AUD)
- 18K Rose Gold Disc PS5 – £8,199 ($14,719AUD)
- Platinum Disc PS5 – £8,299 ($14,899AUD)
- PS5 Controller – £649 ($1,165AUD)
- PS5 Headset – £399 ($716AUD)
The consoles and peripherals will be presented in a luxury wooden box, to give your display that extra level of wank a product of this kind deserves. Be quick, though; stocks are limited, with only 250 pieces made per model/finish.
If you aren’t Scrooge McDuck or an oil baron, and these ridiculous consoles are a little out of your budget, you will need to wait a little longer for your chance to purchase. Sony has kept quiet regarding price and release date of the standard PlayStation 5, but now that the Xbox price is out, it seems likely a full reveal is imminent.
In the meantime, I am going to count my box of gold coins to see if I can afford a shiny boi!
