Keep Your Coin, This One Is Free
In news so exciting that it kept me awake last night, CD Projekt Red has announced the legendary The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be making its way to next-gen consoles, free for those who already own the original game.
As per a post on the CD Projekt Red site, the update “will feature a range of visual and technical improvements ā including ray tracing and faster loading times ā across the base game, both expansions (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine), and all extra content’.
Despite being over five years old now, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has aged like a fine wine, still holding a special place in the heart of many gamers, often charting high on Steam and Twitch, due to its rich storytelling and the freedom of its open-world. This boosted version may also attract a new audience who became interested in the franchise through the hugely successful Witcher series on Netflix, starring Henry Cavill and Henry Cavill’s buns.
The new edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release standalone for purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC, as well as a free update for those who already own a copy on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, though it is unclear when.
