Is Skyward Sword Coming to the Nintendo Switch?

This rumour has just filled my heart with rainbows!

According to a new listing on Amazon UK, The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword could soon be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The listing displayed a placeholder release date of January 1, 2030, and pricing of £70 (which is a trillion dollars AUD). It has since been removed from the site.

While the posting may just be a mistake on Amazon’s behalf, the mere possibility of Skyward Sword being remade/remastered has sent fans into overdrive. The title trended on Twitter for most of the day due to people eager to relive the beloved adventure, especially without the need for Wiimotes, which somewhat hampered the playability of the original.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was released on the Wii in 2011 to rave reviews (currently holding a score of 93 on Metacritic) and quickly became a fan-favourite. A re-release would be the perfect title to hold fans over while we wait for Breath Of The Wild 2, with development of the highly anticipated sequel taking longer than expected.

Now, don’t let your gorge rise too quickly with this news. As with all gaming rumours coming out this year, it may be best to take this one with a grain of salt, though a remaster would line up beautifully with Nintendo celebrating the 35th anniversary of the esteemed franchise next year.

Fingers crossed!
